Welcome to the Southern Hills Middle School Library Website!
The mission of the Southern Hills library program is to provide both students and staff with an inviting place, which fosters collaboration through the use of technology and quality resources while teaching students 21st-century skills in order to create a culture of lifelong learners.
The SHMS Library is open:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 8:20 AM - 3:30 PM
Wednesday 9:20 AM - 3:30 PM
Materials Checkout Policy:
You may check out 3 items at a time
You have 2 weeks before your materials are due to be returned
You may reserve or put a book on hold
You may renew a book 2 times
If you have overdue materials, you cannot check out more books until they are returned or paid for
Materials not returned must be paid for by the end of the school year in order to receive a yearbook

About Me
I grew up in Illinois, moved to Colorado with my husband in 2003, and was then hired at SHMS. I have been teaching for 28 years and have taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grades. I was a language arts teacher for 15 years before becoming a teacher librarian. I have two daughters, both in high school, and two dogs, both Labs. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking, traveling, CrossFit, photography, volleyball, and of course, reading.
